Anders Eliasen

Arun is an Electrical Engineer having graduated from University of Delhi with a major in generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power and related electrical systems. He went on to complete Bachelors in Law from University of Delhi and was called to the Indian Bar in 2008. Arun joined Høiberg in 2008 and is working as a patent attorney having previously worked at a Delhi based IP law firm where his focus areas were Electrical and Software patenting. He has also acted as an in-house counsel for a software multinational at their India office. He is a qualified Indian Patent Agent and is a member of the Bar Council of Delhi. He has an MBA from Copenhagen Business School with specialization in entrepreneurship and innovation management. Arun also acts as a tutor for online courses of the WIPO Academy.

Claus Elmeros

Claus is a partner and European Patent Attorney specialising in mechanical technology, medico technology, processing equipment, manufacturing technology, control systems and software. Claus started in the patent profession in 1990 as a patent examiner at the European Patent Office in the Netherlands. Since 1995 Claus has advised on patents and registered design protection. He was co-founder of a patent practice and partner since 1998 and took over its Copenhagen office in 2005 before merging this firm with Høiberg in 2006.
Claus is also authorised European Design Attorney at OHIM and teaches IP on the CEIPI-course in Copenhagen, Denmark and Malmö, Sweden. Claus is a member of European Patent Institute (epi), the Association of Danish Patent Agents (DDPAF), FICPI (Fédération Internationale des Conseils en Propriété Industrielle), Foreningen Industriel Retsbeskyttelse (FIR), AIPPI (Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Industrielle) and LES (Licensing Executives Society).
Claus is furthermore Chairman of Høiberg's Board of Directors.

Heike Ross

Heike joined Høiberg in 2006. She has research experience in mammalian cell biology and biochemistry. The focus of her PhD studies was the cellular response to disease-causing mutations in the cytoskeletal proteins keratins. Heike has research experience in proteomics, RNA interference, protein phosphorylation and antibody characterisation. After finishing her PhD, Heike worked for a year as a scientific and patent information specialist at a medium sized pharmaceutical company.

Inge Leffers

Inge has worked for a Copenhagen based intellectual property firm for more than 25 years before joining Høiberg in 2005. Her expertise covers all aspects of intellectual property law, including protection and defense of trademarks and designs, and enforcement of copyright. Inge is also widely experienced in settlement agreements as well as counterfeit cases.
Inge is an authorized representative before the Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) and a member of the Association of Danish Patent Agents (DDPAF), ECTA, INTA, AIPPI, FICPI and ITMA.

Jens Raabjerg Olesen

Jens has a background in biochemistry and molecular biology specialising in transcription and mRNA processing. Particularly, Jens has investigated the intimate coupling that exists between transcription, chromatin structure and mRNA processing events, such as capping, splicing, polyadenylation, degradation and nuclear export. Before joining HØIBERG in 2006, Jens was working at the University of Aarhus with commercialization of university research by facilitating cooperation between university and industry in the area of nanotechnology. He specialises in molecular biology and medico-technology.

Jens Viktor Nørgaard

Jens Viktor has worked as a scientist at the University of Copenhagen for 10 years before entering the patent profession. Jens Viktor initially worked with Høiberg from 1998 to 2003 and has since gained extensive experience from the biotech industry serving as Director of IPR at both Symphogen A/S and NsGene A/S. In 2008 Jens Viktor returned to become Partner at Høiberg. Jens Viktor has lectured at IPR courses and patent conferences and serves as a tutor for the European Qualifying Examination.
Jens Viktor assists clients in all aspects of IPR primarily in the biotech and pharma industry.

Jesper Levin Aamand

Jesper is a partner and European Patent Attorney with HØIBERG and advises clients on the protection and enforcement of IPR - primarily within life sciences. He has worked with IPR in private practice since 1996 and joined Høiberg in 1999. Today he represents clients mainly working with biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, drug discovery, medico-technology and environmental protection. He regularly lectures on IPR protection and enforcement at Danish universities. Jesper graduated from the Technical University of Denmark in 1989 and went on to do post-graduate studies in the Genetics Department at Trinity College Dublin. He was awarded a PhD from Trinity College Dublin in 1994.

Lene Hansen

Lene graduated from the Technical University of Denmark in 1996. After graduating, Lene worked in the field of electro-chemical remediation of soil polluted heavy metals in a small research group at the Technical University of Denmark. During her PhD studies focus was directed towards methods for removing heavy metals from aqueous solutions. Lene entered the IPR field in 2001 and joined Høiberg in 2008. She primarily assists clients within the chemical field as for example the pharmaceutical area, the electrochemical area, and the technical chemical area as well as the field relating to food chemistry. Lene qualified as European Patent Attorney in 2008.

Louise has a background as biochemist and has research experience within the fields of mammalian cell cycle and chromatin structure regulation. She graduated as Msc in Biochemistry from the University of Copenhagen and subsequently obtained a PhD in Genetics from the University of Vienna. Ever since her professional life has been dedicated to the field of IPR. Louise assists clients with all patent related issues, primarily within the area of life science. In addition, Louise lectures at IPR courses and patent conferences. Louise qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2004.
Louise is furthermore a member of Høiberg's Board of Directors.

Majbrit graduated as Msc in biomedicine at Odense University and afterwards worked with proteomics for two years at a pharmaceutical company. Subsequently, she obtained a PhD in biochemistry from University of Copenhagen. During her PhD and post-doc Majbrit has investigated the phosphoproteome using molecular biology techniques, mass spectrometry and bioinformatics. Majbrit joined Høiberg in 2007 and is working as a patent attorney.

Malene entered the IPR profession by joining Høiberg in 2002. Malene has worked with the tissue culture systems of numerous plant species from agriculture and horticulture. She completed her PhD in plant breeding, involving research in plant chimeras and adventitious shoot regeneration from chimeras. Her main interests lie in the fields of plant genetics and biotechnology.

Marielle obtained the Industrial Ph.D. degree in 2007, after concluding a three-year collaboration between the Department of Pathology at Rigshospitalet (the National University Hospital), a medium-sized Medicon Valley-based biotech company, and the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. Her Ph.D. project focused on histone deacetylase enzymes and cancer. Prior to this, Marielle graduated as Msc in Human Biology from the University of Copenhagen in 2003, an education with emphasis on pathophysiology, cell biology and pharmacology. Marielle joined the Høiberg team in 2007, and is working as a patent attorney.

Morten Østergaard Jensen

Before joining Høiberg in 2008, Morten gained substantial research experience from working on identification and characterisation of protein biomarkers for various types of cancer, including bladder cancer, colon cancer and cancer of the exocrine pancreas, using a wide range of proteomic methods, in particular multi-dimensional separation techniques and tandem mass spectrometry. In addition, his work has focused on functional analysis of a group of transformation sensitive proteins involved in cell cycle regulation and signal transduction, as well as characterisation and structural analysis of a family of calcium-binding proteins located in the secretory pathway of the cell.

Pernille Winding Gojkovic

Pernille has a background as a biologist and has several years of research experience in the field of molecular cell biology. As an assistant professor she conducted research into the apoptotic and proliferative processes of vertebrate cells with emphasis on calcium dependent signal transduction. From her research, she has experience within the fields of cell cycle regulation, signal transduction and protein degradation. Her expertise lies within the fields of cell biology, molecular biology and biotechnology and she gives lectures on patenting and commercialization.
Pernille is a member of DDPAF (the Association of Danish Patent Agents) and EPI (Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office).

Peter Borg Gaarde

Peter graduated as Msc in physics from the University of Copenhagen in 2000 with a thesis on X-ray scattering, conducting experiments at DESY in Hamburg and ESRF in Grenoble. Subsequently he switched to the telecom business and was employed by a private company as a product manager for a portfolio of specialty optical fibers. He has mainly been working with design, development and manufacturing of optical fibers, modelling of optical communication systems and optical measurement setups.

Peter joined Høiberg in 2006 and is working as a patent attorney. Peter graduated as Msc in chemistry at Linköping University, following a diploma work at a large pharmaceutical company. During his PhD, pursued at Karolinska Institutet and Lund University, he utilised biochemical and biophysical methods for structural and functional characterisation of membrane proteins involved in metabolism, detoxification and inflammatory response. Subsequently Peter spent his post-doc period at the University of Aarhus working on ion pumping proteins and membrane receptors involved in neuronal disease. His main expertise is in the field of protein chemistry and macromolecular imaging.
Peter is a member of DDPAF (the Association of Danish Patent Agents) and EPI (Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office).

Rasmus became (external) member of the board in 2002. Rasmus has a background in finance and business development, having worked in Unibank, McKinsey and Nordea. The relationship with Høiberg was established when Rasmus was responsible for launching Venture Cup in Denmark while working for McKinsey. Rasmus established his own real estate investment company in 2005, which focuses on investing in commercial properties in the Nordic countries.

Susanne teaches IP in CEIPI Öresund, as well as at the Technical University of Denmark.
Høiberg was founded by Susanne Høiberg in 1995.

Ulrika Talts

Ulrika entered the IP field in 2004 and joined Høiberg in 2006. During her PhD studies she worked with developmental neurobiology. In addition, she has four years of post-doctoral research experience in the field of neurobiology and biochemistry, from the Max-Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Munich and the University of Lund. Her work mainly focused on the expression and function of extracellular matrix proteins in the central nervous system. Her main expertise lies within neurobiology, biochemistry and cell biology. She has previously worked for two and a half years as patent specialist at a large pharmaceutical company.
