Anna graduated in biology from Lund University and University of British Columbia, Canada. Her post doctoral work involved transgenic models of congenital diseases of connective tissue. Anna has special expertise within protein biochemistry and cell biology. Anna joined Høiberg in 2006 after having previously worked in a patent department of a biotech company in the Copenhagen area.

Her interests are gene silencing, cell biology and molecular biology.

Claus is a partner and European Patent Attorney specialising in mechanical technology, medio technology, processing equipment, manufacturing technology, control systems and software. Claus started in the patent profession in 1990 as a patent examiner at the European Patent Office in the Netherlands. Since 1995 Claus has advised on patents and registered design protection. He was co-founder of a patent practice and partner since 1998 and took over its Copenhagen office in 2005 before merging this firm with Høiberg in 2006.
Claus is also authorised European Design Attorney at OHIM and teaches IP on the CEIPI-course in Copenhagen, Denmark and Malmö, Sweden. Claus is a member of European Patent Institute (epi), the Association of Danish Patent Agents (DDPAF), FICPI (Fédération Internationale des Conseils en Propriété Industrielle), Foreningen Industriel Retsbeskyttelse (FIR), AIPPI (Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Industrielle) and LES (Licensing Executives Society).

Heike has research experience in proteomics, RNA interference, protein phosphorylation and antibody characterisation. After finishing her PhD, Heike worked for a year as a scientific and patent information specialist at a medium sized pharmaceutical company.

Inge is also widely experienced in settlement agreements as well as counterfeit cases.
Inge is an authorized representative before the Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) and a member of the Association of Danish Patent Agents (DDPAF), ECTA, INTA, AIPPI, FICPI and ITMA.

Jens Raabjerg Olesen

Jens has a background in biochemistry and molecular biology specialising in transcription and mRNA processing. Particularly, Jens has investigated the intimate coupling that exists between transcription, chromatin structure and mRNA processing events, such as capping, splicing, polyadenylation, degradation and nuclear export. Before joining HØIBERG in 2006, Jens was working at the University of Aarhus with commercialization of university research by facilitating cooperation between university and industry in the area of nanotechnology. He specialises in molecular biology and medico-technology.

Jens Viktor has worked as a scientist at the University of Copenhagen for 10 years before entering the patent profession. Jens Viktor initially worked with Høiberg from 1998 to 2003 and has since gained extensive experience from the biotech industry serving as Director of IPR at both Symphogen A/S and NsGene A/S. In 2008 Jens Viktor returned to become Partner at Høiberg. Jens Viktor has lectured at IPR courses and patent conferences and serves as a tutor for the European Qualifying Examination.

Jesper is a partner and European Patent Attorney with HØIBERG and advises clients on the protection and enforcement of IPR - primarily within life sciences. Today he represents clients mainly working with biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, drug discovery, medico-technology and environmental protection. He regularly lectures on IPR protection and enforcement at Danish universities. Jesper graduated from the Technical University of Denmark in 1989 and went on to do post-graduate studies in the Genetics Department at Trinity College Dublin. He was awarded a PhD from Trinity College Dublin in 1994.

After graduating, Lene worked in the field of electro-chemical remediation of soil polluted heavy metals in a small research group at the Technical University of Denmark. During her PhD studies focus was directed towards methods for removing heavy metals from aqueous solutions. Lene entered the IPR field in 2001 and joined Høiberg in 2008. She primarily assists clients within the chemical field as for example the pharmaceutical area, the electrochemical area, and the technical chemical area as well as the field relating to food chemistry. Lene qualified as European Patent Attorney in 2008.

During her PhD and post-doc Majbrit has investigated the phosphoproteome using molecular biology techniques, mass spectrometry and bioinformatics. Majbrit joined Høiberg in 2007 and is working as a patent attorney.

Marielle obtained the Industrial Ph.D. degree in 2007, after concluding a three-year collaboration between the Department of Pathology at Rigshospitalet (the National University Hospital), a medium-sized Medicon Valley-based biotech company, and the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. Her Ph.D. project focused on histone deacetylase enzymes and cancer. Prior to this, Marielle graduated as Msc in Human Biology from the University of Copenhagen in 2003, an education with emphasis on pathophysiology, cell biology and pharmacology. Marielle joined the Høiberg team in 2007, and is working as a patent attorney.

Before joining Høiberg in 2008, Morten gained substantial research experience from working on identification and characterisation of protein biomarkers for various types of cancer, including bladder cancer, colon cancer and cancer of the exocrine pancreas, using a wide range of proteomic methods, in particular multi-dimensional separation techniques and tandem mass spectrometry. In addition, his work has focused on functional analysis of a group of transformation sensitive proteins involved in cell cycle regulation and signal transduction, as well as characterisation and structural analysis of a family of calcium-binding proteins located in the secretory pathway of the cell.

Her expertise lies within the fields of cell biology, molecular biology and biotechnology and she gives lectures on patenting and commercialization.

During his PhD, pursued at Karolinska Institutet and Lund University, he utilised biochemical and biophysical methods for structural and functional characterisation of membrane proteins involved in metabolism, detoxification and inflammatory response. Subsequently Peter spent his post-doc period at the University of Aarhus working on ion pumping proteins and membrane receptors involved in neuronal disease. His main expertise is in the field of protein chemistry and macromolecular imaging.

Sebastian graduated from Lund University with a Master degree in organic chemistry concentrating on bioorganic chemistry. After graduating, Sebastian went into the field of structural biology, protein biophysics in general and more specifically protein structure determination by x-ray crystallography. The focus was on ribosomal elongation factors and their interaction with small molecule inhibitors. Afterwards Sebastian went to do a post-doc at CNRS, Paris on small G proteins involved in signal transduction and their properties as drug targets before going to a large pharmaceutical company as senior research scientist working with structure based drug design. Sebastian joined Høiberg in 2008 and is working as a patent attorney.

In addition, she has four years of post-doctoral research experience in the field of neurobiology and biochemistry, from the Max-Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Munich and the University of Lund. Her work mainly focused on the expression and function of extracellular matrix proteins in the central nervous system. Her main expertise lies within neurobiology, biochemistry and cell biology. She has previously worked for two and a half years as patent specialist at a large pharmaceutical company.
